The Mzansi Youth Chess Championship 2026 will be hosted at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, from 13–19 December 2026.

The championship will be organized by Free State Chess under the auspices of Chess South Africa, bringing together the nation's most promising young chess players in a celebration of talent, determination, and excellence.

More than a competition, the Mzansi Youth Chess Championship is a platform where young minds are challenged, future champions are developed, and lifelong dreams begin to take shape. Through the spirit of chess, participants will demonstrate strategic thinking, resilience, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence both on and off the board.

The championship will feature age-group categories from Under 8 to Adults, with Open and Ladies sections in all categories, providing equal opportunities for players to compete, excel, and pursue national honors.
